Envelope design

To contain my handout/business cards I wanted to create something a little different so went about the task of making hand made envelopes. Using a technique I picked up in fine art during the first year, I used a combination of wet inks and hand typed text.

yet another redsign/think....

Once I transported my large pictures to the FEED studio I was aware of the large border inside the frame, that at first wasn't an issue to me but in the lighting of the studio & against my other pieces it appeared to be more of a cream inlay rather than white. To rectify this problem I removed the pictures to take back home and paint the inlays either White or Black. As the images show I went for black as once again I felt that this work better within my whole united project style & presentation.

Hand out/Business card rethink

After designing my hand out which contained all the pages from my book I felt that alongside my project it was a week design, even after hours of giggling & trying alternative approaches I decided that the format & delivery did not fit the clean cut, Swiss inspired deign that I was wanting from my overall project.

This is my revised handout/business card which is a scaled down version of one of my main pictures. The sleek design works better alongside my project and reflects the feel and look I was aiming for. I chose to produce these as long strips rather than the standard business card size as it resembles a book mark, which fits with my final piece being in book format.

Blurb Book redesign

So after the issue with the front cover I decided to reorder two new soft cover books with the new revised front cover that I preferred. This was a chance to do a little giggling about inside also, as doing a design on screen is actually a lot different to actually seeing it printed in a book in front of you. I altered a few pages that I feel were a little week such as the intro page, also reducing the size of the time codes on each page as I felt these were a little bold & brash in printed form. The book has a much better feel to it & a stronger form of consistency now.

grrrr printers! again!

Had some issues regarding my book publication. After weeks of altering, checking and double checking my designs for my book it has arrived with a issue with the cover. All the attention payed to the inside regarding 'trim' guidelines from the company that produces the book was forgotten about the cover layout, as there was no trim marks to work to I presumed that the page was full bleed, only for it to turn up with the design slightly cut off on one side!..... but every cloud has a silver lining as they say, & I was luckily enough to order on hard back copy which comes with a dust cover, which I have been able to re-design & independently print, and it turns out I prefer the new design, so all is good..... well nearly :) here is the design I had printed to cover the one that went wrong.

grrrr printers!

Have had several issues with the printers, some problems being my fault most being theres. But have finally got some prints sorted, here is one of my framed pictures, these were going to be hanging banners but thought a sleek black frame would work better.
