record sleeve designs - inspiration
i found this design online which is where the look for the dirty dog label came from with the rough black & white feel with an edgy rough press printed feel.

some work that i did to try & create a theme for the record label. I started to also look at the label producing a magazine. also a selection of logo designs including the final design.

inspiration for my designs of record covers. Im not a music person & will confess to knowing nothing about the different styles. So when this brief was launched i was immediately worried, so decided to approach it from a purely design angle & stay clear of referencing any styles of music, bands etc. These covers caught my eye, i love the old style record sleeves as appose to a cd cover so decided to have that as my format.

So i been looking at the whole human branding thing from a personal identity point of view, looking at how we present ourselves & how we see others, also looking a little at what makes us who we are, ie; race, sex, sexuality, religion etc. These are a few snap shots from my research book.

Video i found which follows one guys quest across america to get himself 'branded' the more research i am doing on this subject the more fascinated i become by it, what was once a form of punishment is now being used as a form of decoration. Im astonished by the amount of people who want to be scared for life by a piece of metal that is used to melt away the flesh. I personal have many tattoos, all of which mean significant times or changes in my life so tell a personal story, but i can not get my head around being physically scared in this way, is it a personal statement? is it a pleasure thing?.....
